Canopic jars were used during the Egyptian mummification process. Qebehsenuf was one of the sons of Horus the God of the sun, sky, weather, and storms. He was a major deity in ancient Egypt. The four Sons of Horus were tasked with guarding the internal organs of the deceased, which were placed in canopic jars during the mummification process. Qebehsenuf was specifically associated with the western direction and the intestines.
